At the project level the Country Strategy Papers elaborate particular themes, activity plans and strategies per country. Partners and other local actors have been actively involved in this process. These plans are reviewed every three years – in consultation with partners and stakeholders – and achieved results are recorded.
Through the development of CSPs, Simavi acknowledges that the needs and situations differ between countries and that a sound knowledge of the local situation is required to be able to find the right response to opportunities and constraints. The CSPs are dynamic working documents and learning tools. They will be regularly reviewed and adjusted and are partly used to identify the gaps and weaknesses in our own knowledge and understanding of the local situation. They are also communication tools that require reflection and response from all relevant stakeholders. However, the choices made should ensure a long term commitment. CSPs will therefore be approved for a period of 3 years initially.
